Election to membership in the National Conference of Personal Managers (NCOPM) is recognized as the preeminent designation of peer recognition and professional accreditation for entertainment, music and talent managers.
NCOPM provides personal managers nationwide with a unified voice and advocates on behalf of personal managers with government agencies and officials, state and federal courts, trade unions and other stakeholders to protect the interests of personal managers and their clients.
NCOPM member have the opportunity to network with other NCOPM members nationwide via email, events, social media, telephone and the NCOPM website regarding personal management practices, industry contacts and entertainment industry developments.
NCOPM members adhere to the NCOPM Code of Ethics, which has served as an industry standard since 1957, but has also earned the respect of the entertainment industry as an established trade practice for the conduct of professional personal managers.
NCOPM promotes the professional development of its membership by email, events, newsletters and social media to educate members on news, events, issues and trends affecting personal managers.
By election to NCOPM, an NCOPM member is recognized industry-wide as an established personal management professional — as demonstrated by the authorized use of the NCOPM Logo.
NCOPM sponsors membership development events -- most notably Personal Managers Interchange, the networking conference for entertainment, music, sports and talent managers.
NCOPM assists members with research regarding industry practices, state and federal laws, trade union regulations, court decisions, contract forms and contact information for casting directors, talent agencies, producers and other industry entertainment professionals.
NCOPM members are authorized to use the NCOPM Personal Management Agreement form, which is an accepted industry standard contract, plus has been recognized by courts as an established entertainment industry trade practice.
Special discounts are available exclusively to NCOPM members from ADP, Alamo Car Rental, CelebrityAccess, FedEx, Exxon/Mobil, HP, Lowes, Office Depot/OfficeMax and many other nationally known brands.
If you are currently a full-time personal manager who has has an established reputation of ethical business practices and meets eligibility requirements, you are invited to apply for NCOPM membership.
NCOPM membership eligibility is limited to an individual whose principal source of business income is from personal management, that has been an established personal manager for a minimum of one year and who does NOT hold a franchise in any of the performing arts trade unions, does NOT accept fees from any artist on the promise of procuring employment and does NOT share an office on or within the premises of, or work for, or is in business with, any of the following: (A) an attorney; (B) a certified public accountant; (C) any person who holds an agent's franchise with AEA, AFM, AGMA, AGVA, SAG-AFTRA or other performing arts trade union, or (D) any has any association, ownership, or is in business with an acting, vocal, model or dance school, photographer and/or casting or theatrical agency.
Your Membership Application will be reviewed, screened and verified by the NCOPM Membership Committe. You will be notified within 30 days whether or not you have been nominated for election to NCOPM membership.
Membership Dues of $180 per calendar year and a one-time Initiation Fee of $350 are payable in full with your application. In the event that your Application is not approved, your Annual Dues and Initiation Fee payment will be refunded.
